Rooibos is afkomstig van de Aspalathus Linearis plant. Deze plant is van een andere familie dan de theeplant, daarom is rooibos officieel geen thee. De naaldvorminge blaadjes van de plant worden geplukt, gestamd en geoxideert in de zon. Dit process geeft rooibos zijn smaak en aromas hoe wij het kennen. Door de roodbruine kleur, wordt het ook wel de "rode thee" genoemd. Om de ultieme smaak te creëren, adviseren wij om 2Gram thee 3-5 minuten te laten trekken, afhankelijk van hoe sterk je het wenst.
